I believe that the upcoming generation has many obstacles before them that previous generations have not had to contend with. Our young people are entering the workforce with crushing student loan debt, no access to affordable housing, rising interest rates, rising inflation and limited opportunities to find work that provides livable wages, health care or a retirement plan option. We need to govern with the next generation in mind and make investments to support the next generation of our communities — and maintain our Alaska way of life.

We MUST stop the radical, destructive agenda pushed by Joe Biden and today’s congressional Democrats. Their recklessness, including reckless spending, is killing America. Out-of-touch and out-of-control spending has given us the highest inflation in four decades and driven our economy into recession. The left is openly hostile to our God-given rights that are supposed to be protected by our Constitution. Today’s radical Democrats are waging war on American manufacturing and energy, driving up fuel prices and making life worse for hardworking American families. The good guys in Congress need reinforcements, and I’m more than ready, willing and able to be there on the front lines with them to stop the disastrous Biden agenda in its tracks. We’ll get to work rolling back this disaster, we’ll replace it with a pro-growth, pro-liberty, America First agenda that makes life better for the people of Alaska.

1) We have some incredible environmental laws and watchdogs. Accordingly, we have experienced workers both union and otherwise who work in the natural resource field. Additionally, we have incredible educators teaching the next generations ways to problem solve. We have the raw ingredients, the environmentally sustainable drive and the know-how to recover those ingredients and process them for consumers. Yet we transfer the resource development to countries with poor child labor laws like the Congo, where 6- to 12-year-olds mine for cobalt, a needed ingredient in your electronics and EVs. Likewise, in countries with atrocious human rights and environmental laws like China, where slave labor is used and poor environmental policies have created a wasteland, Baotou toxic lake. A NIMBY attitude fuels reliance upon these human rights and environmental travesties.
2) Only a fraction of Alaskans voted in the special primary. 70% did not participate. Most common reason: It does not matter which two parties win, taxes will rise and there will be new regulations. Using the significant number of votes from the special primary, 43,601, as an example, a mere 7% of Alaskan voters would determine the state’s future direction. Please vote. I do not care how you voted in the past only how you vote in the future. That vote represents actual opportunities for each and ALL Alaskans.

Large technology firms today hold tremendous amounts of information on each citizen: voter records, asset ownership, credit history, likes and preferences and even purchase history. This largely unregulated data marketplace allows Americans’ private information to be bought and sold, managed and monitored and used to drive consumer behavior at unprecedented levels. Further, technology platforms are in a position to control the flow of information, to solely deem what they believe to be true and influence the ability of those with whom they may disagree to reach an audience. This abuse of platform power threatens fundamental rights of self-determination and speech and must be curtailed in order to ensure we remain a truly free people.
